KFC (Kids for Christ) is our Sunday Morning children’s programme.
Designed for all children from age 3 to the end of Primary School, KFC members join with the church family fellowship for Morning Worship at 11.00am. The early part of the service usually includes special
items specifically relevant for the children, and after about 20 minutes they go out to the Knockagh Hall. Using the Scripture Union programme based on the Bible, they begin with a time all together. Then KFC splits up into several small
groups by age where they go into the day’s Scripture in more depth. After an hour all of KFC comes together for juice.
In the meantime, parents have been joining in the worship service and will have finished about 10 minutes before KFC does. They, along with other adults have time for some refreshments in the Andrew Orr Room
before meeting up with the children when KFC finishes.
Our intention is that KFC is the best hour of hour children’s week. We introduce them to the Bible, encouraging them to trust Jesus as Saviour and grow in serving him as Lord, integrating the children
into the life of the congregation. The programme is interesting and fun, and is presented by four teams on a rota basis. Once a month KFC stays in church for the whole service when the entire church family follows the KFC programme for
that day.
The Superintendent is Joan Page who also leads one of the teams.
The other team leaders are Fiona Watt, Alison Corey and Mark Stothers.
